As I get older, I feel that more blond moments just seem to happen. Am I getting senile or do I just have too much going on in my life? My coworkers think that I have lost my mind at times. There seems to be some validity to that opinion of me.
I recently was away for 11 days visiting my mother and seeing her through a very difficult surgery. I packed my toiletries and as a result, my routine here in Florida was a bit disturbed. At least that is a lame explanation of why I did such a stupid thing!
Every morning, I wash and condition my silky blonde hair. Afterward, I spray it with a fortifier and then a shine spray before drying it. Yes, I am most definitely a high maintenance girl. My hair normally has a nice shine that last all day.
Well, a few days ago, I washed and conditioned my lovely blonde locks and they appeared a little tacky in texture. I didn't think a lot about it and soon forgot that my hair didn't have it's lustrous appearance.
The next day, I went through the same morning ritual to beautify my hair and face for my customers and coworkers. The people so fortunate to work with me are very open about their opinions of my hair and clothing. I try not to disappoint them. Especially, when I wear my tattered and holey work vest. It isn't my fault they don't carry my size anymore.
After I finished washing and drying my hair, I used a good hairspray that contains an anti humidifier. My dog is very needy and expects a little walk before I leave for work. My hair became rather frazzled and coarse after the walk and I chalked it up to the humidity. It was a bit damp that day.
As the day progressed, my hair became more frazzled and greasy looking. Normally, I figure things out at the strangest times. Many times, I will wake up from a sound sleep to remember something that I forgot to do for a customer at work.
As I was sitting on one of our many sofas and chatting with Carolyn, my coworker, the bottle of "shampoo" and conditioner became a clear image before me. For the past 3 days, I had been washing my hair with
conditioner and
not shampoo !! How silly I was! No wonder when I washed my hair it felt so limp for the past several days!!
Today was such a great day. I had to deal with some very nasty, argumentative customers but who cares! My blonde hair was once again shiny and flowing and I looked damn good!

I have done that before.
oh you
@kedward6 - When I told people at work, they thought "oh no... another dumbo Dede thing lol" I thought it was a perfectly normal mistake. What was kind of dumb was that I did it 3 times lol. But, I had been gone for 11 days and was using other products. The conditioner was the same color as the shampoo I used to use.
@mr_faust - perfectly innocent mistake:)
@watersedge62 - Yeah that is a perfect example of blond moment. I have done it once but never 3 times. LOL!
I bet you'll be watching those bottles verrrry closely now! :-p
Kathi
@kedward6 - That is why I am blond and you are not:) Or are you lol??
@Still_groovy - I switched them lol
@watersedge62 - As a child, I was VERY blond. As I grew older, it became darker but I helped it stay blond. Now I go back and forth between coloring it blonde or light brown. I like to mix it up.
Aw...
. Once, I was so lost in my thoughts that I was going to put the gallon of milk in the kitchen shelves
.
@kedward6 - Well hopefully then, you have more sane moments than I do. I think that when my roots grow out I become smarter:0
@Blessed_Enigma - Haha!! I have a friend that did that and she also wrapped her expensive jewelry up in paper towels to hide it when she went on vacation..... only to throw it away later! NO.. it was NOT me lol!
@watersedge62 - I definitely have very few SANE moments, but my blond moments are less frequent.
@kedward6 - You are more blessed than I LOL!!
I think I did something similar. When I was away at high school and had to do laundry instead of grabbing the soap I grabbed fabric softener and that is all I washed with. I told my parents and I think they laughed for a good 15 minutes non-stop
haha, I pretty sure I've done that. Only I caught myself in the shower.
Haha. This is exactly why I tend to use a two-in-one, or not have conditioner around at all. Because this is totally something that would happen to me. (Especially because I can't see without my glasses.)
@IfonEarth - I can't either. Also, do you keep your eyes closed while you are washing your hair? I do and my friends at work think that is strange.
@watersedge62 - Yes. Because shampoo + eyes = pain.
wait 'til you try the Chaz Dean Wen whatever stuff, the 'shampoo'-IS the conditioner and the 'conditioner,'styling creme... imagine my fright when I forgot about this as I didn't memorize the damn commercial andfelt the cold bottle to my cheek to read in the first morning haze...
@watersedge62 - OMG! She threw all her jewelery away? Was she ever able to get them back?
@Blessed_Enigma - No, but her insurance company compensated her lol.
@Uncious - Huh??? Do we speak the same language lol!
I'm confused. Were you conditioning twice? Or just conditioning first before washing?
Haha, my sister once washed her hair with body wash. Baddd news!
