A dear friend of mine is opening a site that will go live this week called
Armadillopepper.com . He needs southern style recipes for example: Florida Cracker Style, New Orleans Style, Georgia Style... etc! His site will be a big one and I am honored that he is seeking my expertise for his venture.
Would any of you have some original recipes or those handed down from generations that are not copied from other sites? It would also give you more exposure because he will give you a link back to your Xanga blog!!
By helping him out it will also help me!! Thanks so much and I hope to return in a more fun capacity soon!!

most of our original recipes aren't called 'texas style' or 'southern style' but simply, "mee-maw's kick ass _____", or "aunt joo joo's fry your lips right off _____"
I'll see what I can find thoWell, I might have a few good Tennessee ones. I'll look around and see what I can do. :)
Maybe check out this website. It looks like there could be a lot here- http://www.experienceneworleans.com/recipes.html
I hope this helps. maybe your friend could get ideas from here. Obviously not copy anything, but maybe can help with ideas.
Most great southern cooks (my aunts) never had a recipe. They just put it all together and it was a pinch of this and a shot of that. Writing something down took too much time that they did not have. haaa. I know, check out all the old church cookbooks from different areas. I bet you can find them at garage sales and flea markets.
I don't have any but I have recommended to get the word out.
我第2隻派台作品, support吓la^^ 都係上次個女生唱的~

i wish i knew but i dont. now i am looking forward to recipes from italian cooks and brazil...
Not sure if I'm too late. Smothered Pork Chops. This is sooooooo easy.
1 Pkg Lipton Onion Soup Mix, 1 can cream mushroom soup. Throw in your pork chops and cook until tender Low heat. Add instant potatoes to thicken the gravy. Add rice and corn bread. mmmmmmm, mmmmmmmm!
Do the same thing with chicken only use cream of chicken soup and you have smothered chicken. Is this just too simple for what he's wanting? I'm a simple gal and delight in simple pleasures. If you need more detailed stuff I can look for something else. I have some very old school cook books from Galveston that I can look at.
@originalislandgirl - Thanks so much!! Sounds yummy
I don't have a recipe for them, but I hope your friend was able to include pralines, like they have in New Orleans! They are wonderful!
Hope all is well with you, Dede!
